They say it's your birthday
It's my birthday too, yeah

{name that movie!}
{for even more goose bump points, name that band!}

In honor of yours truly's big Three-Five... I've decided to share with you 35 things you might not know about me. Jeesh. Is that possible?! I am like a tell-all book.

Well, let's try it.

1) My favorite "flavor" of lotion is Cocoa Butter. Hands down.
2) My middle name is Leigh
3) I have one angel baby in heaven {^i^ - 2.19.03}
4) The first car I owned was a red Ford Festiva {aka the roller-skate}
5) My favorite color is yellow.
6) I am left handed, but I throw with my right.
7) I throw worse than a girl.
8) I throw like an alien.
9) I was obsessed with pink eyeshadow and teal eyeliner in high school. {in the early 90s}
10) My favorite Christmas present from a friend was a gold ring - freshman year. I haven't seen my friend since shortly after, but we are friends on Facebook. I wonder if she even remembers the gift!?!
11) I hate the smell of newspaper ink.
12) I can't stand touching newspaper paper.
13) I am a great dancer {so I tell myself}
14) I lied.
15) More specifically, when I went to go see a live performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show in high school with friends, and they asked for all of the "virgins" {people who haven't been to a live show before} to go on stage, I pretended that I had, so I wouldn't be forced to go to the front of the theater.
16) I can do a mean Time Warp dance.
17) I am addicted to Beverly Hills 90210 - the original. Still.
18) I really like Famous Amos Chocolate Chip cookies.
19) Drink of choice?! Dr. Pepper.
20) Worms fascinate me.
21) So do scorpions.
22) I ♥ Old Navy.
23) I love Nancy Drew books. And read them over and over again.
24) I hate doing the dishes.
25) I love a warm, FLUFFY down comforter, straight from the dryer.
26) My maiden name is Polish and means "Angel."
27) I have a mad, mad, mad crush on Hobby Lobby.
28) I want to create bulletin boards for teachers. I'd do it for free.
29) I wear "Secret" deodorant.
30) The name of my dogs growing up were Beau and Nikki.
31) I was born in the same hospital as my dad.
32) My mom was 19 when she had me.

33) 33 is my favorite number. For reals.
34) I am a total dog person {but secretly think I *could* like a cat}.
35) In high school, I won 2nd place in Nationals for an individual drillteam routine. As in 2nd best in the country. I love to spin {fake, wooden}rifles. That was was almost 19 years ago. Lordy.

That's it - 35 random things about me.
Now... as we all know, it can never, ever be all about me. Instead, today wecelebrated Nic's 5th birthday! We had over 40 people over - great friends and wonderful family. They all helped make the day super special!

Nic and I are blessed.

Got my hair did...and other Saturday ramblings

2 comments
What a fab day so far! ;) The weather is PERFECT. Perfect.
I spent the morning getting my hair did, doing some front yard work, and spending time with the husband - you know the love of my life? - and introducing him to the other love of my life - you know, Hobby Lobby?! Awkward....

Well, not really. I think it went rather well! ;)

I got a few crafty type things so I can make a crafty type thing - which I will blog about tomorrow (or whenever I finish it really).

Look what else I picked up there....

Isn't it cute? But wait... Am I confusing you?!

Anyway...
The rest of my gang?! I dropped Alex off at a friend's house, Nic is playing upstairs, and I think Isa is rearranging her room. The husband is resting playing Call of Duty... Nice Saturday so far!

Oh - here's me with my new do. Nothing fancy, but at lot less bulky! =)

 Hope you had (or are having) a wonderful Satuday!

Buh-Bye Little Pony

Warning. Large pictures of people who look less-than-perfect. =)
Just keepin' it real.

Isabel and I decided it was time for a change.
We have been ponytail lovers for a long time.
Before we have to start buying stock in Scunci, we thought we'd rid ourselves of the not-so-flattering, sleeked-back, pony.

 Here is Isabel's before:

During:
(look at how curly it became as soon as some weight was cut off)

And after:

Our hairstylist, AJ, flat ironed it... but we know that Isa can wear it curly or straight. I think this cut allows her to play with her hair more.
She is entering middle school, after all.

I don't think the picture does her cut or her cuteness any justice... but it will have to do for now.

Next up?
Me.
Yes, I do know how to smile. But it's hard to try and figure out where the camera is pointing, what button to push, and to also keep my eyes OPEN during self-portraits.

In this picture, can you even tell I am swagging a pony?
I am.

Here is a during... had to get some color, too.

And an after:

Isabel got about 9" cut off of her hair. She loves her new, shorter 'do.
I got about 5" cut off about a month ago... and probably another 5 or 6" this time around.
You should have seen the pile of hair on the floor.
Waiting to be swept.
Never to be locked up in an elastic hair thingy, ever again.

Now I just need to find out where the heck I've put my blow dryer and curling iron.
Or my ASU ball cap!
heheh
